Our client is a Fortune 100 multinational company and is an industry leader in marine transport, aircraft manufacturing, shipbuilding, nuclear power engineering, waste treatment plants, satellites, defense contracting, glass, petrochemicals, oil products, beer, property and casualty insurance and warehousing.
The division in the US is an exclusive distributor of a full line of passenger cars and sport utility vehicles. The division employs more than 1,100 employees and markets three categories of automobiles - sedans, sports cars and sports utility vehicles - consisting of seven distinctive vehicles covering a broad market range.
Our client was using a legacy system that needed to be re-written as a modern e-enabled system. Apart from an aggressive time line the new system had to incorporate several new processes, workflow situations, integration with other Enterprise Information Systems and migration of data from mainframes to the new Technology platform.
The Clavib Business and Functional Technical Team partnered with E-Costbenefits personnel at various levels and performed Requirements Analysis, created functional specifications document and the implementation roadmap with other teams in delivering a customized solution using Oracle Applications. The existing application was re-engineered for the Internet and enhancements like automatic fax/email notifications and custom workflow were added. The basic package from Oracle was extended with newer functionality around web enabling the User Interface, newer EDI features and a more flexible Workflow module.
Our team partnered with teams from other organizations as well as the Client's team and delivered the solution in a phased manner and handled the bulk of integration work and the final transition to making the system live. The rollover was achieved with minimum downtime and the new system achieved a high uptime of 99+% almost immediately. The Clavib team was chosen to continue work and partner the Client in further modifying and maintaining the solution.
